st Weifang “Changda Construction Cup” Table Tennis Grand Prix, hosted by group corporation and undertook by the 1
st branch company, was held at Bowei Table Tennis Club from December 12
th to 13
th . There were 160 male contestants and 29 female contestants from departments directly under the Municipal, new high-tech zone and 12 counties and cities to attend the competition. The grand prix invited famous professional personnel to organize and coordinate, and invited Weifang famous sports reporter and Weifang People’s Broadcasting Station senior sport commentator Li Guang to host. Its organization scale, player level and bonus amount are very high in the history of Weifang. Weifang Party Committee deputy secretary-general Wang Zhiliang and Weifang Construction Bureau deputy director Li Zhenlong were invited to attend the grand prix and kicked off for the competition. Weifang Table Tennis Association chairman Mao Shusen was invited to attend the opening ceremony. On the ceremony, Group Corporation Party Committee deputy secretary, chairman of Board of Supervisors, Discipline Inspection secretary Teng Zhongbin made a speech, and accepted the spot interview and special coverage of Weifang Tv Station “Live Weifang” column.
The competition included men’s singles and women’s singles. During the competition, the players showed noble style of professional ethics and high competitive level. Through two-day tense rivalry, the players for top eight men’s singles were Hou Shunjie, Su Bo, Pan Yujian, Wang Wanyou, Jia Guangqiang, Wang Shang, Wang Jianting, Wang Jichao; the players for top six women’s singles were Cong Benyan, Wang Xiujuan, Mao Guofen, Liu LI, Li Xiuchun, Tang Lu; and Xu Qiang from New high-tech Zone won the ethics prize.
On award ceremony. Hou Shunjie, winning the first of men’s singles, announced that the bonus of 1000 Yuan was donated to Weicheng Welfare House. Hui Shoujiang, manager of the 1
st Branch Company also donated his salary of 1000 Yuan to the Welfare House. On December 14
th, Weifang TV Station carried out a follow-up reports for the donation. This became a favorite tale in Wefang Table Tennis sector.
